My work under Terry Ow-Wing Designs explores the intersection of Asian heritage, architectural form, and the fluidity of glass. Each piece is kiln formed or flameworked, shaped by fire and time, and infused with motifs drawn from Japanese Katagami stencils, oceanic textures, and the quiet geometry of traditional design.
I am drawn to glass for its duality, its strength and fragility, its transparency and opacity. These qualities mirror the diasporic experience: layered, luminous, and often refracted through memory. Whether creating functional pieces like ikebana stands and sushi plates, or sculptural wall portraits, I aim to honor the past while shaping something unmistakably contemporary. |
